Echosclerotherapy, also known as ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, when used to treat valvular incompetence (i.e., reflux) of the greater or lesser saphenous venous system with or without associated ligation of the saphenofemoral junction, is considered investigational/not medically necessary.
